Is JUVÉDERM® approved by the FDA?
Yes, JUVÉDERM® is the only HA filler with FDA approval to last up to one year.

• filling in nasolabial folds or “smile lines”
• filling in glabellar lines (“frown lines” or “11 lines”) between the eyebrows
• filling in “marionette” lines at the corners of the mouth
• eliminating under eye dark circles by filling in the grove underneath the lower Eyelid
• enhancing the lips

What makes JUVÉDERM® different from other dermal fillers?
JUVÉDERM® is the only hyaluronic acid (HA) filler FDA approved to last up to 1 year. The soft replenishing gel filler which employs patented Hylacross technology together with a unique manufacturing process provides a high concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid for long-lasting results. It also works to create a smooth consistency gel that flows easily into the skin and provides a smooth, natural look and feel. All other hyaluronic acid dermal fillers currently on the market are made of granular consistency gels. JUVÉDERM® is the first hyaluronic acid dermal filler that has demonstrated its safety and effectiveness in persons of color.

How long does treatment usually take?
The injection process is quick and easy and takes only about 15-30 minutes.

How long before I see results of my JUVÉDERM® Injection?
Results are instant. You will see an immediate improvement in the treatment area. Most people need one treatment to achieve an optimal outcome. Supplemental “touch-up” treatments may be required to achieve and maintain the desired look.

Could I be allergic to JUVÉDERM®?
Allergies to JUVÉDERM® are extremely rare. Because it is free of animal products and because the body recognizes hyaluronic acid as not foreign, adverse reactions to JUVÉDERM® injection are unheard of.

Does a JUVÉDERM® injection hurt?
JUVÉDERM® injections are virtually painless. The smooth consistency gel of JUVÉDERM® allows us to administer it easily and smoothly. And, JUVÉDERM® is injected directly into the skin using a fine needle to reduce injection discomfort. We may choose to numb the treatment area to further minimize discomfort.

What are the side effects?
Bruising and brief redness are rarely encountered. Temporary bumpiness in the area of injection may happen on rare occasions. There are no known serious adverse effects associated with the use of JUVÉDERM®.

Can people with different skin tones/ colours be treated with JUVÉDERM®?
Yes. In fact JUVÉDERM® is the first hyaluronic acid dermal filler with proven safety and effectiveness in persons of colour. Studies with JUVÉDERM® showed no increased risk of hyperpigmentation or hypertrophic scarring in patients of colour.
