What is Restylane?
Restylane is an injectable gel is made of Hyaluranic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in our bodies. Restylane is used for filling moderate to deep lines and wrinkles and add volume to areas such as cheeks, mouth, and jawline.

Dr Schachter is highly skilled with more advanced Restylane injection techniques such as improving the appearance of dark circles beneath the eyes. Restylane can restore a more youthful appearance by creating volume and fullness in the face.

How does Restylane Work?
Upon injection into the mid to deep dermis (middle skin layer) Restylane works by adding volume and fullness to smooth out facial wrinkles and folds. .

What are the benefits of Restylane?
Restylane can instantly soften tell tale signs of aging and improve your looks by enhancing your natural features, such as your cheeks or lips. Restylane restores volume, improves skin elasticity, and smoothes deep lines and imperfections. Long lasting but not permanent, Restylane allows you to stay in control of your looks.

Does a Restylane injection hurt?
Most people find the injections virtually painless. If you prefer, a topical anesthetic can be applied to the area being treated prior to your Toronto restylane Injection. When enhancing the lips, a local anesthetic injection is often given.

What does Restylane treatment involve?
Restylane is injected into the skin in small amounts using a very fine needle. The gel provides hydration and structure and gives natural volume to smooth away the appearance of lines, enhance facial shape,or create fuller lips.

What areas can be treated?
Restylane treatments can be used to smooth out facial lines, create fuller lips and shape facial contours, such as cheeks and chin. Restylane injection is a subtle approach to enhancing looks naturally.

The most common areas treated are:

  • from the nose to the angle of the mouth (the nasolabial folds)
  • lips (enhancement)
  • cheeks and chin (shaping)
  • back of the hands, face (skin rejuvenation)
  • between the eyebrows (the glabellar lines)
Do I need a skin test?
No. Restylane is non- animal based, so the chances of having an allergic reaction are extremely small. Of course if you would like a skin test, we are happy to perform one.

Will I experience any side effects?
The rate of reactions to Restylane is very low. However, after the treatment some common injection-related reactions may occur, such as swelling, redness, pain, itching, discoloration and tenderness at the injection site. These typically resolve spontaneously within a few hours in most cases - after injection into the skin and - within a few days after the injection into the lips.

Is there any downtime with Restylane injections?
You can expect slight redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, itching and/or bruising following Restylane treatment. This is the same as you might expect with any type of injection. However, the discomfort is temporary and generally disappears rapidly.

Is Restylane approved by the FDA?
Yes. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA approved Restylane as safe and effective for filling moderate to severe wrinkles around the nose and mouth)
